Working with The Natural Step has been a move in the right direction.
Landmark has created a Sustainability Committee to champion initiatives and focus the organization.
Based on the four principles, Landmark identified seven strategic goals to work toward:
- Sustainable land use – maximize land use potential
- Carbon neutral – homes and operations must be carbon neutral or restorative
- Non-toxic – eliminate toxic products in our homes and business
- Empower people – through education and advocacy
- Zero waste – inclusive of energy, materials and water
- Close the loop – all materials are reused, reduced or at worst, recycled
- Revolutionize the industry – through our example, show builders the business model for the sustainable building of better homes at or below
market prices.
