  • Customer Service Coordinator

    Position Overview:
    The Landmark Group of Builders is seeking a Customer Service Coordinator. As a member of the Construction Department, the Customer Service Coordinator is accountable for the coordination of all warranty activities, assisting in an excellent customer service experience and providing administrative support, all in accordance with Company policies and procedures in order to achieve the department’s goals.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Create and maintain home owner warranty files.
    Develop and maintain reports summarizing warranty items, issue and distribute approved work orders, monitor completion of work orders, initiate follow up calls to home owners and trades, and close homeowner warranty files when complete.
    Ensure overdue service report is distributed to trades personnel for updating.
    Prioritize warranty department workload volumes and provide daily follow-up with trades and suppliers in conjunction with Customer Service Technicians and customers to ensure all warranty work required is completed to Company satisfaction.
    Receive and coordinate all incoming communication from homeowners and direct to the appropriate trade(s).
    Bring recurring problems to the attention of the construction department.
    Review customer questionnaires and resolve any outstanding issues.
    Assist with warranty related invoice auditing and create trade back charges.
    Create purchase orders and record in individual files.
    Send various letters and reminders to homeowners at appropriate times, including warranty wrap-up letters.
    Attend and participate in on site demonstrations and information sessions to educate self in respect to new products installed/used in new homes.
    Maintain all warranty department processes and procedures.
    Liaise with various departments to communicate information pertaining to warranty.
    Organize and attend warranty meetings following up on any unresolved warranty issues. Request and following up on suggestions to improve customer service.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service.
    Residential Construction knowledge would be a definite asset.
    Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Strong organizational skills.
    Ability to work under pressure.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Very good analytical skills. 
    Exceptional customer service skills.

As a member of the Estimating Department, the Intermediate Estimator will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate job costs of new homes before and during construction, in accordance with Company policies and procedures and in order to achieve Company Estimating goals.                  

    Responsibilities Include:

    Issue purchase orders.
    Assist with tender process in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    Maintain job files and accurate job costing.
    Process customer price requests.
    Review new products and conduct cost comparisons.
    Maintain company specifications, price book, model options and selections.
    Maintain accurate trade listings.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    2-3 years of relevant industry experience or post-secondary training and a willingness to learn.
    Construction Engineering Technology is preferred.
    Experience with Microsoft Office required.
    Knowledge of Epicor and/or Homefront would be an asset.
    Ability to establish and grow strong relationships with suppliers and business partners.

  • Carpenter

    Competition Number: LGB-14-14LW

    Position Overview:
    The Landmark Group of Builders is seeking a Carpenter for our Landmark Urban Living (condominium) division. As a member of the Construction team the Carpenter is accountable to complete construction labour tasks on our midrise constructions sites. The Carpenter will work closely with the Construction Site Manager, monitoring site conditions, safety and scopes of work for the various trades.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Provide trade support including but not limited to loading, distributing and moving applicable materials.
    Rough carpentry tasks including but not limited to :

    Installing backing for storage cages
    Building buck outs for block walls
    Replacing crooked studs if necessary.
    Installing temp doors as necessary.
    Demo elevator shaft temporary floors.
    Remove and replace patio doors and windows if necessary.

    Set up and maintain a safe worksite through installing and maintaining safety equipment, signs, and barricades as well as following all company safety policies.
    Scopes of work typically performed by the General Contractor that would fall outside the trades scope of work such as backfilling, heating and hoarding, dewatering, miscellaneous insulation, etc..
    Assist with pile layout, elevation markings, installation of piles & posts and survey slab elevations.
    Miscellaneous painting
    Assist with locking up of suites at night during finishing stage, escorting trades during finishing stage, opening suites, staying with trades while deficiencies are completed in suites.    
    Protection of finishes on site such as flooring, stair treads and finished products (i.e.: deck membrane and patio door sills).
    Progressive cleanup.
    Skid steer operation for various functions such as backfill, snow removal etc.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    Journeyman Carpenter ticket or equivalent experience required.
    Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
    Ability to climb ladders as required for construction site access.
    Commercial construction experience is an asset.
    Experience with power tools, man lifts and skid steer operation.
    Strong organization skills.
    Ability to work within timelines.
    Ability to listen.
    Ability to get along with all types of people.
    Homebuilding knowledge, preferably with condominiums.
    Leadership skills.
    Knowledge of building codes and labour laws.

  • Class 1 Driver

    Competition Number: LBS-35-14-LW

    Position Overview:
    Landmark Building Solutions is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver to work in and around the Edmonton Area. As a member of the Logistics department the Class 1 Driver is accountable and responsible for the safe transportation of materials to job sites.  He/she has a responsibility to ensure all legal requirements and maintenance of company equipment that he/she is responsible for is adhered to.  The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Load, haul and deliver materials to job sites.
    • Practice proper, legal load securement at all times.
    • Maintain LBS and OHS safety standards in the work place.
    • Maintain a legal Driver’s logbook.
    • Complete pre and post trip inspections and correct or report all defects immediately.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Valid class 1 driver’s license.
    • Knowledge of the Edmonton and area would be an asset
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Class 1 Driver
    • Experience with wide and long loads using a fifth wheel tractor and gooseneck trailer combination
    • Knowledge in hours of service and how to complete log books
    • Ability to do light maintenance on trucks/trailers an asset

    Position Overview:
    Landmark Building Solutions is seeking experienced Field Roofers to join the team. As a member of the Roof Production Department, the Field Roofer is responsible for repair and installation of roofing material onto manufactured roof panels in the field. The Roofer performs tasks involving physical labor and operates a variety of hand and power tools as well as other equipment.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Installation of various roofing materials, including roof paper, membranes, shingles and flashing in order to properly complete roof panels in the field.
    • Maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
    • Following quality control procedures.

  • General Labour/Site Maintenance

    Competition Number: LGB-11-14-LW

    Position Overview:
    The Landmark Group of Builders is seeking a General Labourer / Site Maintenance Worker for our Greenscape Division. The General Labourer / Site Maintenance Worker is accountable for the overall maintenance of construction sites, in accordance with company policies and procedures and in order to achieve company’s construction goals.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Maintain internal and external appearance of construction sites by completing cleaning at specific stages of construction development.
    • Vacuuming, removing garbage, material and debris, sweeping, scraping, washing and other site maintenance related activities.
    • Supporting the Construction Site Supervisor and trades in safe work practices.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Prior construction cleaning and/or maintenance experience is preferred.
    • Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License in a good standing.
    • Ability to perform activities involving physical labour for extended period of time.
    • Ability to operate machines, tools and other special equipment required to perform site maintenance, including shop vacuum, generator, water pump, etc.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Good organization skills.
    • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Ability to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.

    Position Overview:
    Landmark Building Solutions is seeking Material Handlers/Overhead Crane Operators for Full Time positions. As a member of the Production Department, the Material Handler is responsible for the safe operation of machinery in order to move, transfer, and load building components. The Material Handler performs tasks involving physical labor and typically operates a variety of hand and power tools as well as other equipment.

  • Residential Construction Manager

    Competition Number: LBS-41-14LW

    Landmark Building Solutions is seeking a Residential Construction Manager for our Edmonton location. Reporting to the General Manager, the Residential Construction Manager is responsible for the overall direction of field construction activities including framing, roofing, exterior finishing, and the associated budget and construction schedule for these activities. In addition to the core manufacturing activities, the Residential Construction Manager is responsible for all after service activities including, inspection, service, and warranty.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Drive operational matrices of the construction department, identify variance, present recommendations and implement corrective actions to achieve business operational goals.
    • Foster and develop collaboration between crews to ensure an integrate approach to operations and fulfill the department’s goals and objectives.
    • Provide construction employees education in new techniques, safety, policies and procedures.
    • Track all aspects of construction: including performance of constructions employees, workplace health and safety issues, scopes of work, construction schedules, quality, and maintenance of codes/regulations.
    • Manage construction budget by monitoring department expenditures; identify variances; implement corrective actions; provide non-project annual operating and capital budget information.
    • Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, professional development to achieve prescribed objectives.
